Classical and long-proven, the Ardo Glass Bottle is designed for the collection and storage of breast milk and is the preferred choice in many clinics.
The material a bottle is made from can have an effect on the properties and components of breast milk and glass offers some good advantages over plastic:
- While stored, cells adhere to both glass and plastic. When stored in glass, more cells can be 'freed-up' or released again for use .
- Leukocytes do adhere to glass, but their phagocytic properties remain unaffected.
- Colostrum cells do not adhere to glass.
- Breast milk stays warm longer in glass bottles
Glass bottles can however be more easily damaged than plastic bottles and for this reason it is important to check the bottles for damage before each use, and after cleaning.
ARDO's glass bottles come with a scale from 10ml to 130ml, and are especially designed to measure small quantities of milk.
ARDO's glass bottles can be autoclaved at 121degC for 20 minutes and are easy to clean.
ARDO's glass bottles are also supplied with polypropylene caps which can be autoclaved.
