Perspective, is NCT’s quarterly journal on preparing parents for birth and early parenthood.
Perspective is written for all those commissioning or providing ‘transition to parenthood' services, including all workers providing education, clinical and social care, support, information and advocacy services.
NCT wants all mothers and fathers to feel supported, informed and confident in being a parent.
Perspective contains feature articles to enhance good practice in working with parents. We specialise in researching and communicating:
- experienced practitioners’ skills in delivering parent-centred, non-directive, participative services, and
- a rigorous evidence-base.
The articles include reflective activities, recommendations and good practice tips.
The journal provides a regular column on reaching all parents, reflecting the charity's commitment to diversity and increasing access to services, and an in-depth research overview on a transition to parenthood topic such as working with pain in labour, couple relationships, co-sleeping, choosing a formula milk.
